I've been trying for hours to figure out how this works. I am thinking of %UNSYNCEDLYRICS% field and all it's contents to the %LYRICS% field. Can anybody help me figure this out? I have decided to use the %LYRICS% field now since I have found a way to retrieve synced lyrics for my music files.

Thank you in advance for whoever is kind enough to help me out!

You could start with this:

> [@Actions and batch-operations](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/actions-and-batch-operations/967/15):
>
> How to copy one field value to another field? Example how to copy the content of the ARTIST field to the ALBUMARTIST field: Create a [new action](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/actions/967/2) in an existing action group or make a new action group. Action type: Format value Field: ALBUMARTIST Format string: %artist% Note: If you want to copy all possible values of a field (in case you have multiple artist fields), the internal scripting function [$meta\_sep](https://docs.mp3tag.de/scripting) can be used in the format string, e.g., $meta\_sep(artist,\\\\)

or just directly to swap the content

> [@Actions and batch-operations](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/actions-and-batch-operations/967/14):
>
> How to swap the contents of 2 tag fields? Example how to swap TITLE and ARTIST: Create a [new action](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/actions/967/2) in an existing action group or make a new action group. Action type: Guess values Source format: %title%~%artist% Guessing pattern: %artist%~%title% Note: The ~ sign is just used to separate the two fields, you could take any other sign that does not appear in your fields, e.g. ¢ or an extended unicode character like ∞ or ∑.

To move UNSYNCEDLYRICS to LYRICS and remove UNSYNCEDLYRICS use an action of the type "Guess value"
Source string: ==%unsyncedlyrics%
Target format string: `%unsyncedlyrics%==%lyrics%`

Just a side note:
Please be aware that your LYRICS tag is a user-defined field.
You would have to check if your players can read the content of this field.

The official two lyrics tags for MP3 files are
[UNSYNCEDLYRICS](https://docs.mp3tag.de/mapping/#unsyncedlyrics)
and
[SYLT](https://id3.org/id3v2.3.0#Synchronised_lyrics.2Ftext)

SYLT is the one with the time-stamps in front of the text lines.

I missed to point out that all of these are for FLAC files. I hardly have any MP3 files in my music library. Thank you for that information though. If you have any insight with FLAC files and what lyrics tag standards they use, that should help me a lot too. I just started building my library and I am new to this.

You would have to test which field your player accepts to display the (synchronized) lyrics.
For all other player use the lyrics without time codes.
It should be possible to have both tag fields in the same file.

FLAC tags are loosely structured. You can read more about them here:

> **[Vorbis comment](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vorbis_comment)**
>
> A Vorbis comment is a metadata container used in the Vorbis, FLAC, Theora, Speex and Opus file formats. It allows information such as the title, artist, album, track number or other information about the file to be added to the file itself. However, as the official Ogg Vorbis documentation notes, “\[the comment header\] is meant for short, text comments, not arbitrary metadata; arbitrary metadata belongs in a separate logical bitstream (usually an XML stream type) that provides greater structure A ...

Supposedly both the Poweramp and Musicolet players support FLAC synchronized lyrics. There may well be others,
