Hello Community,

I am working as a DJ and I use Recordbox version 7.0.9 and there is a MP3 Tag field named "Remixer"
With this field I differentiate the different mix names like extended or radio edit...

Unfortunately I am not able to make this Tag available in MP3Tag

Maybe it is just a wrong mapping of the MP3Tag but to be honest I don't know how to fix this

Thanks for support

Get a file from which you know that it already has a tag field for remixer.
Open the extended tags dialogue to see the name for the field.
Customize the file list and/or the tag panel according to the documentation

> [@Customization of Tag Panel and File List](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/customization-of-tag-panel-and-file-list/56067):
>
> Mp3tag supports flexible tagging, which means that the tag fields available on the Tag Panel on the left and as columns in the File List are not fixed. While you can reference any field which is, e.g., listed in the extended tag dialog as name via a placeholder %name% in Mp3tag, it's also possible to customize the UI using these placeholders. Customizing the Tag Panel The Tag Panel is the sidebar on the left of the File List that shows the fields to enter metadata. Besides the standard field…

and add an object using the field name from the extended tags dialogue.

Here is a list of supported standard tag fields, perhaps MIXARTIST is the compatible field.

> **[Tag Field Mappings – Mp3tag Documentation](https://docs.mp3tag.de/mapping/#mixartist)**
>
> Overview of all available tag fields, their names in Mp3tag, and how they are mapped to the internal structures of the different tag formats. Mp3tag is the universal Tag Editor.

Other programs my store such information in their own database and not in the file's metadata. Which would mean that the field is not present in the files and also it could be that the player does not read that field from the metadata.

You would have to try what works with your combination of tools.

Thanks for the help but it is somehow definitely saved in the MP3

Another program showed this

 ![Bildschirmfoto 2025-02-14 um 10.23.52](https://community.mp3tag.de/uploads/default/original/3X/9/6/96ebc3d54fbbe67ac6420ba5f4f95be4bf235ed1.png)

So there must be somehow a tag ID which is not shown or I enter it wrongly.

Maybe the developer of the tool can get in contact with me @Florian so we can find the issue...

Define a column for `%_id3v2_unknown_frames%`. This will show you if there is an unsupported field.

Do you have APE tags in the file(s) but you do not read and/or write them?

It could be that the update is already in the file(s) in the ID3 tags but not in the APE tags.
If you read APE & ID3 then APE overrules the display of the ID3 tags.
Switch off reading APE tags as a trial.

Topic is solved.

There have been several issues
a) APE Reading was active and
b) remapping of some IDs was active (already active when it was installed)

With the help of Florian I could solve the problem

So this Thread can be closed from my point of view

Just to clarify for completeness: it was a mapping for ID3v2 from `MIXARTIST` to `MIXARTIST` which is **not** active by default when the app is installed, but which caused the field to be no longer visible.
