Mp3tag for Mac v1.12 released

Mp3tag for Mac v1.12 released

I’ve just released Mp3tag for Mac v1.12 and would like to take the opportunity to outline some of the new features and improvements:

UI updated for macOS 26 Tahoe and Liquid Glass

I have renewed hope for macOS after a rough start with Tahoe. For months, I submitted bug reports to Apple, meticulously tested Mp3tag with each and every beta of macOS, and repeatedly updated those reports (often with little more than "it's still not fixed").

Some of these bugs in macOS required Mp3tag to stay in UI "compatibility mode", using a UI style known from Sequoia. Personally, I quite like the pre-Liquid Glass look. However, I know from the support emails I've received that many of you were wondering why Mp3tag wasn't updated to Liquid Glass yet.

One last blocking issue that I had first submitted to Apple back in July '25 (and checked with every beta version since) has been officially fixed with the freshly released macOS 26.4.

Yes! This means I could finally put all my previous preparations into place, so that the new version comes with a UI updated for macOS 26 Tahoe.

Manage Covers

This new version also introduces a Manage Covers feature, available from the Covers menu or ⇧⌘C, allowing you to add, remove, replace, adjust, and reorder embedded cover art for one or multiple files. It's quite handy!

Quick Look

I've also made macOS Quick Look support more accessible and added Quick Look to the view menu and the context menu.

Bugfixes and Internal Changes

In addition, I've fixed a couple of issues and introduced quality-of-life changes, which are all listed in the Mp3tag for Mac changelog. If something is unclear or sparks your interest, please don’t hesitate to ask.

It's a free update! You can update the Mac App Store version via the Updates tab in the App Store app. If you bought the standalone version from my website, update from within the app via File → Check for Updates.

If you’re not yet using Mp3tag for Mac, you can try the 7-day trial version—only the days you actually use the app are counted.

Thank you for reading, your interest, and your support.

Enjoy and take care
