Hi, is there any way to multi select files while holding pressed the left mouse button (similar to how you can multi choose files through Windows explorer)?

Currently there isn't.
Even in WE you only succeed to get a catch rectangle if there is a space with no data.
Apparently, the files list never has "no data".
You have to use the keyboard with the shift and/or ctrl keys to get a larger selection.
Also, you can use Ctrl-A to select all files.
