# need help with a script

Can someone please help me with a script to parse a file name containing artist and track name, putting the values into Artist and Track?

ex. filename = John Doe - Song name.mp3

You need the ![:mt_ftt:](https://community.mp3tag.de/uploads/default/original/1X/6ab8d95b0c2a82cb4f9b0eb16ea87ad3a6575015.png ":mt\_ftt:") Filename - Tag conversion with **%artist% - %title%** as formatstring.

Many thanks for the reply and the link.. I thought I had seen how to do it somewhere before, but could not remember exactly where.. thought it was a script, and totally forgot about the icon buttons at top..

btw.. I like your tag line,, and I 'do' understand binary! 🙂
