# New Tag Panel Changes...wait...what?

I have generally applauded all of the changes made to Mp3tag over the years, but the recent changes to the tag panel layout are not an improvement in my eyes. I dock the tag panel at the bottom of the window (I am still confused if that means its docked vertically or horizontally) and I have only five custom fields added to the default set. The previous two-column layout that stretched the fields to take up half the screen width was fine with me. The new layout cause some of the fields (especially the comment field) to be truncated too often which hinders readability.
I have searched around to see if there is any way to adjust the column or field sizes and if there is then I profusely apologize that I cannot find it.
I do see threads indicating that Florian is considering a more robust tag panel customization features which would be great, but until then I have downgraded to version 2.87a. If there is a way of adding an option to revert to the old style then I would also be quite happy.
