# Optimize MP4 (M4A?)

Hi!
I read in the v2.36 ChangeLog that there is some optimizing of MP4 files.
Does this have to do with moving the metadata block from the end of the file to the beginning to make the files "fast start streaming" compatible? If so, does it also work for M4A files (aka. Apple's AAC and Apple Lossless files)?
I haven't noticed how to enact this feature. Is there anything deliberate that needs to be done when grooming MP4/M4A files, or does MP3Tag do it automatically for these file types?

Yes, it removes all free atoms and puts moov and tags before actual data.

Apple's AAC works fine, but I have not tried it with Apple Lossless files.

It's available from the context menu.
