Say no when you are asked if you want to keep it.

Maybe you marked the checkbox "Don't show this message again" and answered in use-cases "yes" before.

AFAIK there is no limitation in resolutions of covers but there maybe restrictions in size.

What file-format are we talking about and which operating system do you use?

You can import png-pictures but I think the reason might be that png-pictures with this resolution are insanely large. Save this file to a disk and have a look at the storage-size.

I'd be careful with the images from iTunes/Apple Music. Many of the 3000px or 4000px images are upscaled heavily.
If you're unsure if an image is upscaled, you can open it in [IrfanView](https://www.irfanview.com/) for example and press CTRL + H. This zooms in to 100%. If the image is blurry in this view, it's likely an upscale that can be reduced in size without losing visual fidelity.

Often you can convert a 20+MB 4000px png from iTunes/Apple Music to a 1,5MB 1500px jpg without a noticeable loss of image quality.
