Placeholders for export configurations:
%\_covername% Picture name without extension
%\_covername\_ext% Picture name with extension
Example:
$loop(%\_directory%)
%\_covername\_ext%
$loopend()
Returned:
folder.jpg
cover.jpg
front.jpg
back.jpg
What do you think about this feature request?
Is there a little bit hope that this will come alive in near future or not?

No, this is not planned since you can use folder.jpg and so on directly in the export confiruration.

I was thinking of using this in if function for ex: showing if album have front or back cover, or if album does't have any covers. 
But it's ok, I can change the code of exported file manualy.
