# POPULARIMETER

Hi.

I recently discovered that MP3TAG automatically converts asterixes to the POPULARIMETER tag format. Unfortunately it only seems to work for MP3s. I have lots of FLAC and OGG files so was I was hoping it would work for them too.

Am I doing something wrong?

POPULARIMETER and its special formatting style is ID3v2 specific.

So if I change my tags to ID3v2 it will work?? Will this hurt my OGG and FLAC files?

ID3v2 tags can only be applied to MP3, raw AAC and a few other formats IIRC. Ogg Vorbis and FLAC use Vorbis Comments and you aren't allowed to add ID3v2 tags to them (Mp3tag doesn't even support writing of ID3 tags to those two file types.
