# Preserving Modification Time?

I noticed that MP3Tag is changing the modification dates on my files. Luckily no damage has been done. Of course googling around, i found that there should be an option to preserve the modifcation time under File\>Options\>Tags......but there is no such option with version 3.35. I have also had no luck toggling with the Actions.
Any insight?

But of course, the Preserve File Modification option is not there for me.

This was true in November 2022.
In the meantime, the same Option "Preserve file modification time when saving tags" is available in
**File** -\> **Options** -\> **Files**
