# Remove directory question

is it possible to erase a directory from the display without removing the tags from the individual files? i would like to be able to start with a blank "canvas".

Just press the DEL key on the selected files you want to remove inside Mp3tag. They don't get deleted from your file system, only from "the display".
Or start Mp3tag in a directory without any music files, like `C:\temp\emptyfolder`
