# Remove urls from tags

Hi guys 😆
Got some music with urls like these added to the titles/artist/comments etc...
Title: flux pavilion www.randomsite.pl
Artist: chuckie [www.somesite.com](http://www.somesite.com)
**I want to remove all the urls from the tags.**
Can't find/create a script that does it.
Help would be appreciated 😃

Create an action of the type "Format Tag field" e.g. for TITLE with a format string that looks like this:
$left(%title%,$strstr(%title%,' www'))
(note the blank in front of www)
Create a similar action for the field Artist
The idea is to let MP3tag search for " www" inside the string, determine the position of that string and trim the field up to that position.
As this function return zero if the " www" is not found you will end up with an empty string if there is no " www" in it, so filter your list first before you start the action.

Is there a way to make an if else expression so that if it returns 0 it does nothing.
And can you search all the fields at the same time ?
I hope that i'm not asking to much 😲

With a regex action you can replace in all fields:
_Action type:_ **Replace with regular expressions**
_Field:_ **\_ALL**
_Regular expression:_ **\s+www.[a-z0-9]+.[a-z]{2,3}\b**
_Replace matches with:_
[] case-sensitive comparison
