# Removing (.mp3) from filename

Hello,
I have combed this site and the user guide trying to find out:
If I have a filename that looks like this:
Artist - Track Name.mp3
How do I change it to read:
Artist - Track Name (without the .mp3)
I tried going to Convert \ Tag - Filename\ then typing in %artist% - %title%, but the .mp3 is still showing up in my filename.
I can't figure out what I am doing wrong!
I do apologize if this is a repeat question. But like I said I read and read through many of these posts, but I could not find one that answered this specific question.
Some assistance would greatly be appreciated. Thank you.

I'm not sure do you seriously want to remove the extension from the filename or do you think the filename column in Mp3tag should not display the extension?
