I'm sure there's a more efficient way to do this but my method seems to work up to a point. I use "REPLACE FILENAME **n** with "" ", where **n** is the numbers 0-9 and is repeated individually for each number.

However, here's the problem. When **n** = 3, then "Song Name.mp3" gets changed to "Song Name.mp". Not good!

Any ideas, solutions, elations or even admonishments would be appreciated.

You can try Replace with Regular Expression

OK Florian, I give up!

Using your suggestion, my ZERO programming abilities and the use of this Forum's Search feature regarding the use/syntax of the "Replace with Regular Expression", I managed to try many permutations that only served to confuse me more and more. By the way, none of my feeble attempts worked!

Basically I have no idea what I'm doing so can you please give me some hint(s) as to the solution?

Make a [new action](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/967/1)

_Action type:_ **Format value**
_Field:_ **\_FILENAME**
_Format string:_ **$regexp(%\_filename%,\d,)**

THANK YOU!!!

Hopefully, one of these days I will have learned enough to not have to use this forum to seek help but rather to help others just as "lost" as me.

Thank you once again...
