Sorry if this is a very stupid question, but I can't find the answer in mp3tag help.
I've got mp3 file in a directory.
I can rename the file with tag, but I can not change the name of current directory.
If I use a string like this:

%artist% - %album% \ %track% - %title%

mp3tag rename correctly the files but create a new sub-directory in my base directory (with the correct name, sure).
Can I avoid this and rename the cur directory?

No. Mp3tag doesn't rename directories.
