# Rename from tag (fractional track numbers)

Minor issue. Some track numbers are in the form of 1/8, 2/8 etc... When I do rename from tag, the / is not used and the numbers become 18, 28...

You can use $num(%track%,1) or $replace(%track%,/,-)

Thank you. I was hoping this could be done automatically by the program. Most regular uses might miss this as it is a bit on the technical side.

I'm an extreme newbie, and I can't figure out how to "use" either of these. I've wandered around the help website, file:///C:/Program%20Files/Mp3tag/help/index.html, as well as the program's options, and I can't find it -- help, please? I need to use this on several hundred mp3s that're in lots of folders and subfolders, so it'd be especially helpful if your assistance applied to doing that. (Turns out my Zen ignores x/y track numbers and just plays the tracks alphabetically....)
Thanks! (Obviously if this is clearly explained in another link, which I failed to find, just reply with that!)
