# Renaming Tags WITHOUT renaming files...

Evening all,
I was wondering if there is a way to re-tag the title and artist fields with what is inside the title field WITHOUT renaming the files.
for example, I want to rename the track with the tags;
%track% - %title% - %artist% - %album%
01 - Al Martino / Here In My Heart - Various Artists - AT Last! - The First UK Chart
filename;
01\_Here in my heart-AT Last! - The First UK Chart.mp3
I wish to retag it to;
%track% - %artist% - %title% - %album%
01 - Al Martino - Here In My Heart - AT Last! - The First UK Chart
All this but without changing the file names... I've used the utlility feature when searching freedb and there is a compilation fix in there but, the files i wish to retag are not in the data base...
Is this possible at all?

Hi Mark,
from what I understand from your post is that you want to change the TITLE field to %track% - %artist% - %title% - %album%
This is possible via an action Format value. Please see this FAQ section for more information about actions in Mp3tag.
