Hello there!
I got a problem installing my configuration from the desktop XP version of mp3tag into my laptop running win7. More specifically, i cant locate "C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Mp3tag"
so I unzip the config files. There's simply no mp3tag folder inside the roaming one.
There's C:\Program Files (x86)\Mp3tag\data ofcourse but I doubt thats the correct folder.
I have:
\*Installed as admin
\*Enabled hidden folders
\*Made sure is MY username of course. 
Btw there's a locker icon in that folder, dunno if that has anything to do with it. I am not a win7 specialist. Help?v 🙂

The "portable" installation of MP3tag uses all the files from the program (installation) folder - so, if you find only the installation folder for MP3tag then I guess, that is the one. Copy your XP-MP3tag-Files to the installation folder.
The "locker" on that folder in this case only indicates that it is a special folder, so don't worry.

In Win7 the program files folder is a protected directory and you can only write to it with admin rights. It's not a good place for a Mp3tag in portable mode.
But I don't think that's the topic here.
Did you install Mp3tag with the same account as the one you are using now to locate the appdata folder?

Yeah, the one and only acount. The Default admin one, I dont have any others anyway. I dont understand why I dont see the folder.

I think you have to start Mp3tag at least one time before the folder is created.

- What happens when you enter _%appdata%\Mp3tag_ in the explorer address bar?
- In Mp3tag open "Convert \> Tag - filename" and enter
_$getenv(mp3tagappdata)_
It should preview the location of the data folder.

Hm, it shows C:\Program Files (x86)\Mp3tag.mp3
As I said that's where the ""data" folder was residing in so I merely deleted the default one and I copied my old xp one. But I still wonder whether there will be any errors because of that and why did that happen in the first place? Why not in "roaming" as described in the instructions? Did I do something wrong? Maybe it's a bug?

It seems you copied your old settings too early to C:\Program Files (x86)\Mp3tag
Try this:
Close Mp3tag. Look for the mp3tag.cfg file in that Program Files (x86) folder and remove it. Then start Mp3tag again.
Close it and check the appdata folder.
