**Context:**
I'm in the process of re-tagging a large collection of MP3's that have partial tags. Due to HD space constraints, I'm working via USB2 on my HD mp3 jukebox, so updates can be quite slow. Right now, it's a two-step process:

1. use _Filename -\> Tag_ to get some bits of info -\> update (wait)
2. use _Tags..._ to change a few other bits in the existing ID3 tag -\> update (wait)

**Rationale:**
It would save me (and others, I imagine) a lot of time if I could do this in one go.

**Suggestion:**
Alter the _tags..._ dialog so that it incorporates the features of the _filename-\>tags_ dialog.

- Add a filename mask field to the top of the _Tags..._ dialog, which will work exactly the same way as the current _filename -\> tag_ dialog
- In the existing part of the tags dialog, make it so that in addition to _\< keep \>, \< blank \>_ and _something_, you can use the markers from the filename mask.

I'll think about it, but I doubt that I'll make the dialogs more complex.
