# Root Folder

Hi, i'm after help on how to point to a root directory (directory above current one) in the actions dialogue, to point to the current folder you just use the %\_directory% format string, but if i was to point to the directory above it, what prefix would I use in front of the string? I've tried

%_..\directory%  
%_\directory%  
%..\_directory%  
%\_directory%

and multiple other combinations, however none seemed to work.

What i'm aiming to do is use the command to set the Artist tag from the Actions dialogue

Format Value "ARTIST": %\_..\directory% (Doesn't work)

I've set the action

Format Value "ALBUM": %\_directory%

to set the album, however can't make it set the artist (Artist/Album/Tracks) however can't set the artist.

Any help would be muchly appreciated.

Try **%\_parent\_directory%**
