# Runtime error in version 3.22b due to misconfigured TEMP folder

Please need some help.
Have uninstall and reinstall several times.
Also try it other pc and it worked fine.

Could you tell us a little more about the environment?
Has MP3tag been running before?
What has been changed in the meantime?
Does it happen at startup?
Does it happen if you load specific files?
Do you use a specific user-id that has not been used before?
Did you switch from 32- to 64-bit or vice versa?

For years it have been working fine.
But a couple months ago since a recent update it just stop working and I always get this runtime error.
The program is not starting.
no files can be load
I have always use the 64 bit version because my system is 64bit

Yes it is valid. There's no issue there. Is there a portable version can install on USB or external drive?

OK, that's interesting — because Mp3tag has no access to it and reports this error.

If you open your Windows File Explorer (Win + E) and press F4 and copy & paste your temp folder path (overwriting whatever currently is written in the adress path):
`C:\PROGRA~1\KMSpico\temp\Mp3tag v3.22b\`
and then press Enter, does this path really open and show some content?

My TEMP folder is full of files, temporarily saved there from various programs I have run during the session.
So; do you really open the folder that is defined in the TEMP variable?
I would have thought that a TEMP folder is usually located in the APPDATA folder and not the program~1 folder. I also think that this folder is usually write-protected.
(Sometimes screenshots avoid repeated questions around the same topic)

This doesn't look like a valid TEMP path to me. In current Windows systems, apps running from normal user accounts usually aren't allowed to write anything under `C:\Program Files`.
Please try changing the `%TEMP%` environment variable to something like
`%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Temp`
