# Script Help

hello,  
i am new to mp3tag but i must say i am loving it's simple yet effective style! i need some help with a script i am trying to write.  
i simply to need to set the title tag to be equal to the filename if and only if title is empty. how can i do this? (i am using the latest V 2.26)

Hi!

You can create a new action using the following properties:

**Format value**  
_Field:_ **TITLE**  
_Formatstring:_ **$if($eql(%title%,),%\_filename%,%title%)**

Sebastian's formatstring uses the new syntax introduced with the current [Development Build](http://developer.mp3tag.de).
