If you are like me and and also heavily use MusicBrainz (and Picard/Mp3tag as a combo), you might want to display MusicBrainz’ _Release Type_ and _Release Status_ in your column view.

Right-click the column view header and select »Customize columns…«.

In the left pane, click _once_ on »Album« (be sure not to deselect it!) then click the [New] button.

Enter the following:
Name: **MB Album Type**
Value: **$if2(%musicbrainz album type%,$if2(%musicbrainz\_albumtype%,%releasetype%))**
Field: (leave empty)
Sort by: (leave empty)
Numeric: [\_]

Click the [New] button again and enter the following:
Name: **MB Album Status**
Value: **$if2(%musicbrainz album status%,$if2(%musicbrainz\_albumstatus%,%releasestatus%))**
Field: (leave empty)
Sort by: (leave empty)
Numeric: [\_]

Click the [OK] button.

Presto! Album Type and Album Status right next to your Album Name!

_(The reason for the IF construct is that MusicBrainz’ Picard Tagger stores values differently depending on file type. The above ensures it will work with MP3, FLAC, and OGG files.)_
