# Slow/laggy tag editing in file list

- Windows 10 Home, 64-bit, i7-4770 CPU @ 3.4GHz, 8GB RAM, HD: WD Red WD40EFRX 4TB internal SATA 6Gb/s
- mp3tag v.3.16
I don't know with what version this issue started for me, but I've noticed that editing tags in the file list has become very laggy compared to past releases. When I select a field in the file list, it sometimes takes a few seconds for it to become editable. This does not happen when editing in the tag panel. Is this laggy behavior caused by the software (cache issue?) or could this be a hard drive access/speed issue? The hard drive where the mp3 files are located is a fast 4TB WD drive (see specs above), it still has 75% free space, and there were no issues found when I did a diagnostic test. I've also tried to uninstall/re-install mp3tag, but no improvement.

Otherwise: I would think that this is a local issue which you have to investigate locally with some test cases which then could be reproduced on other machines.
