# Specify MTE Comments not passed to output

Is there a way to place comments in export .mte that will NOT be passed to the output? Specifically for HTML output?
If not, I'd like to suggest that a new function, perhaps something along the lines of
> $comment any and all characters following the $comment are ignored
be considered for a future enhancement.

Framing the comment with a comment tag will do.

It's on my list.
@poster, nice idea but a HTML comment would not work, as it's also passed to the HTML output.
