# Suggestion - exporting tags to MusicBrainz

It would be great if it would be possible to select a cluster of songs that form an album in MP3TAG, right-click and click "Export to MusicBrainz". That would cause your browser to pop up with most of the data (such as track titles, artist names etc.) forms already filled in. It is extremely tedious to have to copy and paste everything all the time. Is something like this even possible? There was a plugin for MBP that supposedly did this, but it's now outdated by almost 3 years.

With this export-script: %album%
```
$loop(%track%)$num($ifgreater($strchr(%track%,/),0,$left(%track%,$sub($strchr(%track%,/),1)),%track%),2) %title% %_length%
$loopend()you get the necessary information like this: The Black Pacific

02 When It's Over 02:52

10 No Purpose 03:57then you open Musicbrainz, search for the matching artist, klick on "Add release", enter the number of tracks (10 in the above example) and finally you can paste the above information in the "Track parser" field.

You are right, there is space for some imrovements and automatisation, but this is better then nothing.

Strange, this doesn't seem to support Unicode (Japanese, for example) characters.

Put _$filename(MusicBrainz.txt,utf-8)_
at the beginning of the export configuration. utf-16 is also supported (see manual).
