Support of the WEBM video file format

Unless there is some other topic about this option, I was thinking about

Un-supported vs. no-extension files

I would like to point out the fact the Mp3tag does not load files it cannot handle; and they do no show up at all on the list of files And yet at the same time it does load up and show files without extensions Sometimes when I am preparing a playlist, I make notes in form files without extension; ans so when I load up the folder to Mp3tag I [unnecessary] have them on the list Mp3tag should either load and show up everything or limit itself only to the supported formats

And I know that in theory I could just add

*.webm;

to the list available at

File > Options > Tags > Tags> Restrict incoming files to:

On my machine it is no theory, it works.
So check what is wrong with your local setup.
Could it be access rights (again) as you have migrated from W7 to W10?

In

Properties > Security > Groups or authenticated users

I have 4 entries:

1] Authenticated Users

2] SYSTEM

3] Administrators (NAME-OF-MY-MACHINE\Administrators )

4] Users ((NAME-OF-MY-MACHINE\Users)


The 1 lacks for files Full control while the 4 lacks Full control, Modify and Special permissions. But changing these to Allow does not help- Mp3tag still behaves in the same way [I have that file format o the list and yet I do not see such files in the main window]
