# Tag from Filename question

I have quite a few mp3's that I am trying to tag that have the disc number and track number stored as Xxx where X is the disc number and xx is the track number.
Can Mp3tag read this filename format into the relevant id3 tags?
Any help appreciated.

I would use the Converter "Filename - Tag" to put the Xxx from the filename in the TRACK field.
Then you have for example:
TRACK = 101
And after you used the 2 actions, it will become:
TRACK = 01
DISCNMUBER = 1
Action #1:
_Action type:_ **Replace with regular expressions**
_Field:_ **TRACK**
_Regular expression:_ **^(\d)(\d\d)$**
_Replace matches with:_ **$1-$2**
[] case-sensitive comparison
Action #2:
_Action type:_ **Guess values**
_Source format:_ **%track%**
_Guessing pattern:_ **%discnumber%-%track%**
