# tell mp3tag to use the filename as "title"

Hi there,

How do I get mp3tag to take the name of all my filenames and put that into into the "title" field in mp3tag ?

I have a bunch of mp3 and do not want to do this manually for 60+ files.

I'm not an expert, but I believe you create a custom action. Go to Convert \> Actions. Create a new action type with Format Value. Set field = TITLE, value = %\_filename%.

You can also use Convert \> Filename - Tag using %title% as format string.

default = %artist% - %album% - %track% - %title%

do you keep it like this ?
