# Text file encoding

When I do text file to tag conversion, the program treat the file encoding as ASCII. It would be great if the program can recognize UTF8 encoded files. (or the feature is already supported?). Thanks.

Sure, as long as the file has an UTF-8 [BOM](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Byte-order_mark), Mp3tag detects UTF-8 encoded text files.
