Track numbers

I have a lot of folders where the track number is 01, 02,03,04

I would prefer them be 1,2,3,4 No leading 0 etc

I know i can use the auto numbering wizard to renumber, however sometimes the cdmp3`s in the cd folder dont always appear in the correct order so you could have

track

0
3
1
2
5
4

etc instead of 0,1,2,3,4,5

Is there a way of just removing the leading 0

Make a new action

Action type: Format value
Field: TRACK
Formatstring: [$num(%track%,1)]

Sorry to hi-jack this thread and apologies if this is a "silly" question......................I have a mixture of MP3, MP4 and M4A files some of which are numbered 1,2,3 etc and others 01,02,03.
Why is this?

mp4/m4a don't support leading zeros in their track tags.

TAGs: iTunes M4a vs MP3

"This is because the standard MP4 tag atom (TRKN) can't store leading zeros.
And also FYI in m4a tags the track number and the total amount of tracks are
mapped to two different fields. TRACK and TOTALTRACKS

You can see it in the extended tag view [Alt+t].

Perfectly clear. Thanks

And presumably this will remove the leading zeros from MP3 files.

Cheers
