# Type of File \[Q\]

Hi
I've enjoyed your fantastic mp3tag for about years, all this time I was wondering is there any way to have type of file in spreated column.
for now I'm using the "extention" information field for that, but is there any way to show type of file like it is in windows expelorer??

Then use the windows explorer.
If you want to know the tag type, though, then create yourself a column with the value "%\_tag\_read%[(%\_tag%)]"
This would give you information about the tags - as this would be much more interesting within mp3tag.
Also, the list of file extensions which filters the files in the options is fairly close to the abilities of mp3tag. So why do want to see a DOC-file in MP3tag.

As far as I know there is no prepared way in Mp3tag to display the descriptive text associated with a file type.
