# Unwanted hyphens at beginning of filenames

Hi I'm new to this and haven't been able to sort this on my own I have a bunch of filenames with 2 hyphens at the beginning that I would like to remove, any ideas? thanks

Could you please show us a real life sample (with a [screenshot](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/hints-for-asking-support-requests/56190#use-screenshots-to-exemplify-the-issue-2) or manually written example filename)?
Does your filename actually look like this:
`--ABBA - 01 - Waterloo.mp3`
