I've been trying to research the different tag types that support .flac files now that I've ripped my 5000 track library to .flac format. My current tag type appears to be FLAC but was wondering about switching to the APEv2 format.

Thoughts?

FLAC supports Vorbis Comments only.

Are there any limitations to this over other tag formats like Ape?

The only downside I see is that Vorbis Comments are not written at the end of the file - at least as far as I know. Therefore, if there is not enough padding and you want to tag a very large file (a complete audio CD image for example), it is possible that tagging will take much longer than WavPack+APEv2 for example.
