# What is the Tag field?

What is the purpose of the "Tag" field? Here's a screen snippet of a few of the tracks I am working with. I didn't set the Tag field. What does it mean?

This column is obviously configured with value of the information field %\_tag%.  
It shows you which kind of tag-version is used in the specific file..
