No hurry! I still hope that you can figure out, what is causing the trouble concerning LyricsWiki and that you will be able to hopefully solve it. I keep my fingers crossed!
I still haven't forgotten. I will update soon!
When I went to do the test today, I was getting lyrics as normal again. The partial lyrics were not happening any more.
@XP_XYZ, do you see the same errors you were before about partial lyrics?
Indeed the error messages "PARTIAL LYRICS. SAVING ABORTED." are gone and all the lyrics are saved now! I guess, I should have tested it more often since my first message ![]()
Concerning LyricsWiki the first line is missing without the -nostrip command. When using -nostrip there are those " Send "songtitle" Ringtone to your Cell" ads included in the txt-file. Is there a chance getting rid of those ad lines and still getting the first and the last line of the lyrics?
That is just how it goes, sometimes. In any case, I am glad it is working!
You can try the new version (1.0.0.19) uploaded today without the -nostrip command. I changed how it looks for that Ringtone line and I am hoping it will work magically for you now. If not, for my testing purposes, what is a song / artist example of one of your songs with this issue?
Win XP/AMD 64
Thanks for the cool tool
I've been looking for something like this for a while.
However, a couple of issues I've run into...
Firstly, the UNSYNCEDLYRICS tag is being written but always starts out with the following line:
eng||Play Music
If this is OK, then disregard.
Secondly, when I select a group of songs, export them and then run the tool it only tries to get the first song selected and proceeds to fail in finding lyrics.
For instance, I tried The Doors "Morrison Hotel". Should be pretty common to find lyrics to those songs and after manually searching lyricswiki, it was all there. However, the tool died at Roadhouse Blues (the first track) with the following error:
Searching LyricsWiki for Lyrics to 'Roadhouse Blues C:\Documents and Settings\radiophonic\My Documents\Downloads\The Doors\2007 - Morrison Hotel (40th Anniversa\02 - The Doors - Waiting For The Sun.mp3', by The Doors:
No lyrics found.
Update:
One more thing, after using the tool a quite a few times I'm left with 10 zombie iexplore.exe processes and a few lyrics.exe processes. This seems to have caused mp3tag to hang indefinately (it cannot be forcefully killed).
Hello,
at first: thank you for this little piece of software that makes things (music database) much easier.
I have the latest version of lyrics.exe and Mp3tag. It was a bit tricky to get it running, your editorial was very helpful, but I have the German skin in use so the path had to be adjusted for this language. But now it runs. Sometimes the lyrics.exe freezes and I have to kill it, but next start will bring the result in most cases.
What I find a pain in my.... is that the lyrics include some javascript befor the lyrics and after it. I tried a lot to find out why but no result. Have you any idea? I think lyricwiki has changed their stile and therefore I get characters that does not belong to the lyrics.
I already made up my mind to use php script and regular expressions to get rid of this gibberish but I think it would be better to solve the problem where it occurs.
THX and a happy new year!

That line demonstrates to me that the mp3 file you have does not appear have the correct title yet. The full path should not be the title; the error should be:
Searching LyricsWiki for Lyrics to 'Waiting For the Sun' by The Doors
Can you confirm the title is correct and rerun the tool?
First of all, PeterPan176, sorry for the very late reply.
I am glad you were able to figure out the German skin; sorry that all mine are English screenshots and explanations. I know that sometimes Lyrics.exe will just totally freeze or crash - those times are typically something being weird in Internet Explorer, and therefore hard for me to debug. :-/
I have uploaded version 1.0.0.20 now and it attempts to strip out the Java "junk" text at the beginning and end of the lyrics. I've had good luck on my testing with the latest version, since I also did have problems as you described on 1.0.0.19.
Let me know if you are still using this tool and can test it for me!
excellent. I have installed your tool.
Just that it only works for a song.
As I select more songs I look all the lyrics but only the first,
If I do the search for a single song and maybe there but from.
As before with the search for more songs he gave me no.
thanks
Yes, that is the way it works. Just one song at a time.
The instructions in the first post and the included PDF show you how to enable this tool to do multiple songs at a time.
Let me know how I can help you, or what part is giving you trouble.

Maybe you should read the actual situation about LyricWiki.
Hi! I tag my songs' lyrics manually and been doing it for 5 years lol.
Glad I learned about this but it lacks something and I'm new to this.

I had to use Tag&Rename for this case so I'd like to know how to make the script remove the leading spaces from lyrics automatically?

Is there any way that it'll find lyrics from Genius? I prefer to use it because they mostly have all the lyrics from artists I listen to.
If ever the original author is inactive, any help from other users would be greatly appreciated. Time is well valued.
Hello @Lostking - it's been a few years since I checked in here.
I am more than willing to try to resurrect this project and update it, and/or share the source code so others can help maintain.
I will take a look this evening and see about using Genius.
Genius is going to be more challenging based on some initial tests.
Technically they have a full API which we could likely plug into, vs using the page scraping I had been using for the other sites.
Not saying it can't be done, or that I won't be able to do it, just that it won't be just a couple nights of work adding a new option.
