# WMA artist tag doesn't work properly

Hello

When I edit my WMA10 pro files with MP3tag, the android media players doesn't recognize the artist, but if I convert my files with fre:ac, or edit the tags on my phone with an audio player(Pulsar, PiMusic), it works properly.

Have you tried removing all tags from the file and try from scratch? Sometimes these players have a cache, are preferring album artist over artist and so on.

I've just checked Mp3tag's implementation and it uses the [Author](https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/desktop/wmformat/author) attribute of the Windows Media SDK. Nothing special here.

Yes, but it didn't work.
