# Writing tags has become unusably slow

I write a roonalbumtag to all my ripped albums donating year and storage and it has slowed to treacle, what would normally take 10-20 seconds is taking 4-5 minutes.
I think this is the first time I have used it with 3.24.
Any help appreciated.

Where are your files located?
Locally? On a NAS? External USB-HDD?
What kind of tracks do you use? MP3? FLAC? WAV?
If you use FLAC files, it could be that one of the latest Mp3tag changes could be the reason:

Thanks for your help guys.
I did what I probably should have done first and rebooted my NUC running Roon ROCK which has a USB drive attached which is where the music files are stored (flac)
This has got the speed back up to normal again.
