[WS] iTunes

Is there any way to add total tracks and total discs to this script? I found some posts from 2014, but i wasn't able to get is working. Can someone help me out?

What country? I have an edited script I can post.

This album has frustrated me to me no end. It is available on iTunes (as well as Apple Music, which hasn't given me any issues), yet it continually gives me the same error message, as though it doesn't exist:

The album ID is 1689302034, so I know it should work, yet it just won't register, no matter which country I switch to. No other album gives me this problem. When that error occurs, it's usually just a matter of changing the country, and I can continue as normal.

Update: The issue appears to affect more albums whose ID begins with "168..." than just the one I used as an example. If the album ID is "1688...," it's a coin toss whether the entry will match my search criteria. Beyond that, I imagine it's pretty much guaranteed not to work.

I'm unsure if anyone is interested in updating this script anymore, and I don't know how to because I don't know what variable(s) to manipulate to fix this issue. Hence, I'm here hoping that someone more knowledgeable than me can say precisely what's up and propose a possible solution.

is there a way to fix the search please? it only finds not explicit / cleaned versions now

Is your setting file set to "Uncensored"?
Can you give an example album?

how do i see that? because i never touched anything and it always found the explicit version

Sorry, I didn't notice which thread you were posting from. Not all web sources use a settings file, which has only been technically available for a short time. There are a lot of web source scripts for iTunes and Apple, and I'm still not entirely sure which one or which version you're referring to.

I was referring to this script:

When you access this script, you'll see the web source script itself and a menu item for the settings. Accessing the settings also includes an option for censored or uncensored results.

just checked and none of the itunes scripts show explicit albums

pone script improved on old mac and itunes api v2 on new mac

Please name such an album for me.

young thug - uy scuti

Yes you are right. The script from @rboss I mentionend also delivers a censored result with the setting "Uncensored".

But it seems to be related to the countries.
I get a censored result if I select US but not for Germany and GB.

i hope it can be fixed, i mainly use my old mac for and not all scripts work on it

Well, I tested it now for a lot of other countries and so far only the US-site has this problem. So you can use one of these sites instead of the US-site.

Perhaps Apple decided that, due to its well-known prudishness in some parts of US society, it should generally no longer be confronted with uncensored title names.

i don’t use the us version

how ? i tried the script from your link and it doesn't work either

There are Apple-scripts that have a separate version for each country. The mentioned script from @rboss looks for the US-site per default and you have to manually change US in country to some other country-code at each call, i.e. GB for Great Britain or IT for Italy

If you want to permanently change it you would have to change the US in row 29 of the SRC-file

[SearchBy]=Country||US||&country=%s||Language||en_us||&lang=%s||Query||[$if2(%albumartist%,%artist%)[ %album%]]||&term=%s||Limit||50||&limit=%s

to your preferred country code, or you could create alternative SRC-files yourself, giving each copy another name according to the country-code.

Did you call the settings for the rboss-script-version from Mp3tags action menu, which has to be copied to the Mp3tag-sources folder as well, and change the setting for censoring?

that's exactly what i did and still no explicit version

Then I don't know whats different for you.
Using your example (Young Thug UY Scuti) with the script from @rboss and the apple script from @AreDigg, I always get a censored result for track 5 (F*****g Told U), if I use US as country and an uncensored result (Fucking Told U) if I use any other country codes.

oh i see, when i say explicit version i'm talking about the audio

like itunesadvisory 1

So I see, a fundamental misunderstanding.
I've never been interested in the labels in this regard. Aside from the iTunes Advisory tag, how exactly do a clean version differ from an explicit version in the audio? Does the clean version of the same album simply have tracks missing, were the tracks recorded with different lyrics, or does it beep for explicit words?
