```auto
if "Various Artists"
say "VA"
outputto "COMPILATION"
say "1"
endif
```

would become for example...

```auto
if "Various Artists" ; say "VA" ; outputto "COMPILATION" ; say "1" ; endif
```

JavaScript, for example, would have this:

```javascript
var str1 = "Some text" ; var str2 = " and some other text." ; console.log(str1 + str2);
```

In some cases, I prefer one-liners for short if statements and I find then easier to read plus it's easier to comment that if statement out for people wanting to not use a tag for example. I know the set command can be used but that's just an example.

Here's a more general example for mp3tag.

```auto
outputto "ALBUMARTIST"
ifnotoutput "ALBUMARTIST"
json_select_many "artists" "name" ", "
sayrest
endif
outputto "ALBUM"
json_select "name"
sayrest
outputto "COVERURL"
json_select "images"
json_select "large"
json_select "url"
sayrest
```

could become

```auto
outputto "ALBUMARTIST" ; ifnotoutput "ALBUMARTIST" ; json_select_many "artists" "name" ", " ; sayrest ; endif
outputto "ALBUM" ; json_select "name" ; sayrest
outputto "COVERURL" ; json_select "images" ; json_select "large" ; json_select "url" ; sayrest
```
