# \[X\] Access denied Error when closing the tool on Windows 8.1

Dear all,

I'm always receiving a "Access denied" error when closing the tool on Windows 8.1.  
Looks to me like a permission error, like the tool wants to write something into a folder or so and is not allowed to.

[Problem remembering settings in Windows 7 HP (X64)](https://community.mp3tag.de/t/11825/3)  
You have to make sure that the cfg-file is writable. This is usually no bug but a problem in your environment.  
If you have updated from XP then it could be that some permissions still point to old user-ids. Change the ownership and access permissions of the relevant folders to run errorfree.

Hmm, even if I remove the folder completely, I still have the issue??

Fixed.. Was not the Roaming folder.. was the cfg file in the installation directory and the access rights there..
