# \[X\] Date field truncated since v2.53

In v2.52 I could save a Year as "1980 09 02" (particularly useful for live recordings), and in v2.53 anything other than a 4 digit year is discarded. Is there a need for this change? Is there an alternative way to store an ISO formatted or similar date?

Steps to reproduce:

1. Change YEAR field to: 1980 09 02 and save.
2. Verify that the YEAR did not change
3. Change YEAR field to: 1980 and save
4. Verify that the YEAR did change
5. Repeat step 1 under v2.52
6. Verify that the YEAR did change

Much than again for a great program!

You now have to use this format: YYYY-MM-DD
