# \[X\] MP3 Cover Image not displayed in Explorer Preview Pane

MP3 Cover Images neither displayed in Explorer Preview Pane nor displayed on Android Handy
when Mp3tag Mpeg Options set to ID3v2.4 UTF-8.
MP3 Cover Images are displayed when Mp3tag Mpeg Options set to ID3v2.4 ISO-8859-1.
Best Results:
Read checked: ID3v1, ID3v2, APE
Write checked: ID3v1, ID3v2, ID3v2.3 ISO-8859-1, ID3v2 only if ID3v1 too small
Remove checked: ID3v1, ID3v2, APE
Cover Images not displayed:
Read checked: ID3v1, ID3v2
Write checked: ID3v1, ID3v2, ID3v2.4 UTF-8, ID3v2 only if ID3v1 too small
Remove checked: ID3v1, ID3v2, APE
I have observed this problem the first time in november 2016 with mp3tagv279setup.exe.

This is a known shortcoming of the Windows Explorer: it cannot cope with V2.4 tags.
This has nothing to do with MP3tag.

MP3Tag dooes not have an option to write ID3v2.4 ISO-8859-1. So you probably mean ID3v2.3 ISO-8859.
As Ohrenkino already wrote the windows-explorer could not handle ID3v2.4-Tags.
But at least since the Windows 10 Creators update in spring the explorer is able to show those tags.

I never use the preview pane for MP3s in Windows but I just tested it with the latest Windows 10 (Fall Creators Update) and cover images in ID3v2.4-tags are displayed.
