# \[X\] replace with escape chars. fails

Hi,
I have file names which contains words in brackets, ex. (New) or (Re) etc.
I used to use the following regular expressions to replace them with null.
"(New)" "" and this used to be successful in previous versions. The regular expression now fails with version 2.37a. Please advice.

Actually i forgot to mention now the file just removes all the paranthesis found in file names.
"abc (New)" , "abc (Re)" now becomes "abc New", "abc Re" and so on..
before it would be "abc (New)" , "abc (Re)" now becomes "abc", "abc (Re)" and so on..

This is not a bug. Use ((.+?)) instead and replace it by $1.
