After pushing ![:mt_dir:](https://community.mp3tag.de/uploads/default/original/1X/530378ebceea3c6a02919a04d345cdd59334532f.png ":mt\_dir:") or ![:mt_diradd:](https://community.mp3tag.de/uploads/default/original/1X/cb793d9f8b593600d69948648a1055fd6f09de7a.png ":mt\_diradd:") button and selecting "subdirectories" checkbox in the window the subdirectories no really scanned.

In the options I have "Subdirectories" disabled.

Works flawlessly here.

That checkbox tells Mp3tag to also check the subdirectories of the selected folder for supported file types (MP3, AAC, WavPack, etc.).

Scenario: Parent folder containing songs and many folders with songs inside.

Action A: Click the "Change directory" button and select the parent folder. Don't select subdirectories.
Result A: Only songs in parent folder are added. Expected behaviour.

Action B: Click the "Change directory" button and select the parent folder. Select subdirectories.
Result B: All songs are added. Expected behaviour.

Action C: Repeat Action A. Then click the "Add directory" button and select the parent folder. Select subdirectories.
Result C: Songs in subdirectories are not added.

Is this what he is talking about? I can reproduce it and it doesn't seem to be the expected behaviour.

If you choose the same directory, Mp3tag won't start scanning it again.

Best regards,
