# \[X\] Tag - Filename format string %path%

... (from Extended Fields \> path) returns a value of null.
Workaround (perhaps): replace with %\_folderpath%%\_filename% .

This is a non-standard extended field and was probably added by yourself.
Not a bug.

Oops, sorry. Thanks. Is there a way to find out which fields are non-standard, short of reinstall?
I find this setting nowhere in usrfields.ini or any other externally editable config file. It is listed in mp3tag.cfg.

You can move mp3tag.cfg to another location, start Mp3tag, have a look at the list, close the program and move your original configuration file back where it was before.

Great - thanks. Yup, that identifies PATH and a few other bogies. Is there a way to restore the default list without losing other settings?

No, this is not possible and I also think that it's not needed that often.

Can anyone tell me the manual method of removing indicidual field names? IIRC Dano posted one, but cannot for the life of me find it now.
PS Florian, it would be good to include such a method in the official docs.

Didn't quite work. Here's the minimum version I've found that does work:
1 Launch mp3tag
2 File | Change directory, to a directory with at least one audio file
3 In the track list, click the first file
4 Click Convert | Actions
5 Click New icon
6 Type Temp, click OK
7 Click New icon
8 Click OK (for Case Conversion)
9 In Field:, select the field you want to delete
10 Press SHIFT+Delete
11 In Field: Select \_ALL
12 Click OK (on Case Conversion
13 Click Cancel (on Actions)
14 Click Cancel (on Action Groups)
15 Exit and relaunch Mp3tag
If anyone can reduce this, please do say!

That's a good reduction, thanks... except here it leaves the deleted field showing e.g. in Filter Field:, so it needs an addition:
1. Select a file and press [Alt+T]
2. Click the New button
3. In Field select the field you want to delete
4. Press [Shift+Del]
5. Select any other field and type a random text
6. Press OK
7. Press Cancel
8. Exit and relaunch Mp3tag
