# \[X\] Wrong multiple field seperator used on 2.3 tags

When tagging multiple fields in Artist (TPE1), etc. using any of the id3v2.3 modes with "\\", a NULL is saved as seperator but according to the specs on [id3.org](http://id3.org) a "/" (forward slash) should be used.

As far as I know a NULL seperator is only used on id3v2.4 text frames

If you need to separate multiple artists by a "/" character you can simply do this. Though they won't be splitted into separate fields in Mp3tag because it would break artists that contain a "/" character (think AC/DC).
It's one of the reasons for ID3v2.4.

Thanks for the clarification.
I had just assumed the \\ would use whatever default seperator, be it "/" or NULL based on 2.3 or 2.4 tags, etc.
I am fully aware of the AC/DC issues as I'm just setting off to retag my library to remove all the junk off the artist tags (vs, featuring, etc). It was this how I noticed the NULLs as I use XBMC Media Center with library functions and they use (space)(forwardslash)(space) as the seperator.
Thanks again for this great program, I've been using it for as long as i can remember.
