# Year tag manipulation

Hello I want to know specifically how to rename title and filenames with my requirement:
1. I set year in `yyy-mm-dd` format for all files.
2. I then wish to rename my filenames and titles in the format of `%title% (dd-mm-yyyy)`

try `$regexp(%year%,(\d+)-(\d+)-(\d+),$3-$2-$1)`
Please note: by the definition in the ID3 standard, YEAR has only 4 digits.
If you want to use a longer date, RELEASETIME could be a valid alternative.

I don't want to change the formatting of the year tag. I want to extract the 3 components of the year tag and append them in a different format for title and file name.

Yes. And in the format string with which you modify title and filename, you use my suggestion instead of the plain %year%.

Ok but then I can't retain old title. I want to append title with the regex.
