# You don’t have permission to save the file

Only on some files I get this message. I have tried some of the recommended steps already (like Info and Permissions)

Can you try this command via Terminal.app while Mp3tag being closed:
`defaults delete app.mp3tag.Mp3tag SecurityScopedBookmarks`
After that, load the **folder** (not the individual files) via ⌘O and see if the issue persists.
If the issue persists, I’d need more details about the concrete actions you’re performing that trigger the error and ideally a screenshot of the error message. Also, can you provide some details on the files where this error message occurs, e.g., file type, internal drive, external drive, or NAS?
[BackLog](https://eternalstorms.at/backlog/) is an option to get a more detailed insight into what might be causing the issue, where you can set the process to Mp3tag and include all events that are not directly created by this binary.

OK, it looks like a basic permission problem. Can you please check again the permissions of files and parent folder and make sure that the currently logged in user has write permissions on both?
